Finally, while land pooling approach is observed to be a relative success, introduction of some level of rehabilitation is recommended as a way of enhancing the achievement of a renewal program, particularly for cost reduction, rather than total clearance and redevelopment. The cost implication of the redevelopment and time factor were some of the issues which could have hindered the success of the programme, were it not for the cooperation of all stakeholders. Increase in housing stock, among other physical and socioeconomic impacts, was a positive effect of the project, as the government embarked on vertical development against the horizontal development by the individual families. Findings reveal that the land area for the renewal programme was acquired through land pooling scheme, contrary to the usual individual property acquisition technique, which usually is difficult to administer. Against this backdrop, this paper, using a narrative inquiry of qualitative research approach, evaluates an urban renewal programme in Lagos Island. This is rarely done and usually less documented. However, given the intricacies of the process involved and the dynamic nature of the environment, evaluation of these renewal efforts is imperative to provide required insights and guide future endeavours. The deplorable condition of cities around the world has often necessitated urban renewal, and several of such programmes have been carried out in Nigeria, particularly in Lagos.

(And I ended up having to actually specifically try most of these, because for the very most part I don't even consciously think about them, just like I don't consciously think about the positions of the alphanumeric keys with few exceptions, the intended glyphs just magically appear on the screen as I press down keys on the keyboard.)įor the function keys ( F1 through F12), I find that it's often beneficial to move your hands off the home position anyway, so tend to just reach for those with whatever finger happens to be conveniently nearby and that doesn't interfere with any modifier keys needed for the desired function. Right Shift - most often right little fingerīackspace (also strictly speaking not a modifier key) - most often right ring finger Right Control - most often right little finger, putting the tip of the finger to the right of Enter Right Alt (known as Alt Gr on non-US keyboards), Right Windows key and Windows Menu key - most often right thumb (though particularly for the menu key, this moves my right hand from the home position since those are used relatively rarely, I don't consider that a real problem) Left Windows and Left Alt - varies, but most often left thumb. Left Control - left little thinger, pushing down by the base of the finger (for me, this puts the tip of the finger just to the left of Caps Lock) Tab (not strictly a modifier key) - varies, but most often left index finger As a result, for me the modifier keys are at:Ĭaps Lock and Left Shift - left little finger stretched out to the left What I do, which works well for me, is to keep my hands mostly in the home row position, or near it (I will often rest my hands to the sides of the alphanumeric part of the keyboard). Comfort reduces body stress as well as likely reduces the number of mistakes you make. There is no One True Way, except that typing should be comfortable for you. In the end, all of touch typing boils down to what you find comfortable. Of course, I learned to touch-type properly some ten years ago now and have been using computers for much longer than that, which may influence things a little. I haven't seen any touch-typing tutorials myself that really give much credence to the modifier keys. 9/16/2023 0 Comments Modern minimalist bathroom decorThe trash can will serve the dual purpose of storage and decoration, which is a minimalist decorating style feature. After the Blackhawks and Ducks, who won the second lottery draw, teams were slotted in order of worst regular-season records. Who are the biggest draft steals for each team of the last 20 years? If that happens, the team lowest in the standings moves into the first-pick slot. 12-16 won the lottery, they’d move up the corresponding 10 spots, but wouldn’t receive the No. The rule change also only allowed a team to move up 10 spots, so if teams slotted Nos. Starting in 2021, the NHL dropped the number of lottery draws from three to two, meaning that the team with the worst NHL record would pick no later than third if it lost the first or second lottery draws. They got 185, to be exact, representing an 18.5 percent chance of winning the first lottery draw. When engaged your racer will actually fly through the air, making use of tilt control or analog (PS2) movements to fly through the level, gaining additional boost off of floating world objects that become unhinged from the world when you enter flight mode. There is a new boost maneuver as well, but it's treated more as a state-change than an actual turbo meter. The idea works, but without an overall boost ability the entire experience feels a bit slower now, as you won't be cashing in trick points for turbo, but instead use it to actually slow the game down as you make more precise movements. Replacing the classic turbo boost from the first game, players can now rocket at full speed into a huge turn, flip into Zero Gravity mode, reposition themselves, and then boost out of free space again in a new direction. Sonic's new gravity-changing bracelet allows him and his team the ability to stop time, launching into a bullet time effect that lets you reposition yourself for a quick turn, or latch onto a wall track for alternate routes. In addition to the new story and tilt control on Wii, Zero Gravity also makes use of some new gameplay mechanics, specifically those dealing with the "Gravity" part of the game's title. Even Sonic and the Secret Rings had tighter controls than Zero Gravity's end design. For whatever reason, the steering isn't tight enough overall, so characters like Knuckles will often run into walls simply because they can't turn fast enough, and Wii tilt users will find that movement with the remote needs to be far more exaggerated than most games, yielding less turnout as well for their efforts. Where the original fell short, however, Zero Gravity again fails, as the air board mechanic is a bit too slow for our liking (nowhere near the intensity of something like F-Zero GX), and the control is very clunky, using Wii tilt or PS2 analog stick to control a very slippery, floaty character at high speeds. You'll sprint through courses, grab rings, power up your air board – why the fastest animal alive doesn't just run is beyond us…- and attempt to take first place in some of the craziest track design since Extreme G on the N64. Putting all story aspects aside, Zero Gravity is basically the same design as the original Sonic Riders experience. 9/16/2023 0 Comments Family video highland in“I know that everybody went to Blockbuster, but Family Video, that’s where I went to, specifically. “I was a little sad because Family Video, that was my place,” said McKinney, 26.
